The Tennessee Center for Marksmanship Education (TNCME) is committed to promoting firearm safety, marksmanship education, and competitive shooting sports. Our mission is to provide a structured and supportive environment where individuals—especially youth—can develop essential firearm handling skills, deepen their understanding of marksmanship, and engage in responsible and competitive shooting.
Through a focus on safety, education, and competition, we strive to instill discipline, confidence, and respect for the shooting sports while fostering a culture of responsibility and excellence.
Youth shooting sports teach discipline, focus, and responsibility while promoting firearm safety and marksmanship skills. They build confidence, patience, and teamwork, offering a structured environment where young athletes develop mental resilience and a lifelong respect for safety and precision.
Yes, youth shooting sports can be safe when proper safety precautions are followed. In fact, shooting sports are considered one of the safest activities for young people.
We use two types of air rifles.
Sporter Air Rifle is designed for affordability and accessibility, using basic rifles with limited modifications.
Olympic (Precision) Air Rifle allows advanced rifles with high customization, precision sights, and specialized shooting gear.
Sporter Air Rifle: Only basic clothing (e.g., T-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans) is allowed—no stiff shooting jackets.
Olympic Air Rifle: Specialized shooting jackets, pants, and boots are allowed to provide stability and reduce fatigue.
Yes, our coaches are certified instructors by 4-H or CMP (Citizen Marksmanship Program).
You can compare Sporter Rifle to Rec League sports, and Precision Rifle to travel team sports. Sporter Rifle is a lower cost of entry with basic gear required. Precision Rifle will cost significantly more as there is more specialized equipment required.
