An 8-class beginner program designed to introduce middle and high school students to safe firearm handling and Olympic-style air rifle shooting in a structured, encouraging environment.
The First Shot Program is built for students who are brand new to air rifle and want to learn the sport the right way.
Students start with safety, fundamentals, and basic range procedures, then progress through the standing, kneeling, and prone positions before finishing with a graduation match.
Not every student connects with traditional sports. This gives them another path to build focus, discipline, confidence, and responsibility.
This program is designed to build a strong foundation before moving into more advanced training.
Each class builds on the one before it so students learn safely and progress with confidence.
Learn gun safety rules, parts of the rifle, eye dominance, sight picture, and the equipment used. Students shoot from a seated position to learn how to look through the sights and squeeze the trigger.
Learn the basics of the standing position, body alignment, balance, and the beginning of a proper shot process.
Reinforce position, build consistency, and continue developing sight picture and trigger control.
Learn the kneeling position, body setup, stability, and how the position changes the shot process.
Strengthen kneeling fundamentals and build confidence through guided repetition and coaching.
Learn the prone position, alignment, and the stability that comes with proper body placement.
Refine the prone position and continue improving accuracy, control, and shot process.
Review the course and shoot a 3x10 for record fire as a graduation event from the First Shot Program.
That is just $20 per class.
Instruction, range time, and use of equipment are included.
After completing the First Shot Program, students can continue building their skills by joining the TNCME rifle club.
Club members receive ongoing training and development opportunities as they continue improving and move toward more advanced shooting.
Rifle club membership is $75 per month.
